Stratham Tire is a certified Bandag Retreader and has been retreading tires per Bandag's high-quality standards for over thirty years. We have two retread shops; one in Auburn, Maine and one in Londonderry, New Hampshire where the state of the art Bandag equipment and Bandag technology are utilized to make your old tire casings like new again.
All casings are barcoded and tracked throughout the process. During the retread process, the tire is recycled and when the process is complete, the tire looks and performs like new. The tread that is buffed off during the process is utilized in the manufacture of dog crates, running tracks, and other necessary products; thereby minimizing the volume of scrap tires sent to landfills. When your tire is processed through the Bandag retread process, it is inspected by Trained Bandag specialists who perform a visual, hands-on inspection from bead to bead inside and out. This is done to find and mark all visible injuries. The tire is then moved to a Shearographer where it is x-rayed to determine if there are any internal anomalies with the casing. Once the tire casing has passed both the visual and internal inspection, the old tread is buffed off, a new tread is applied to the casing with a vulcanization process after which the casing and the tire is trimmed and painted to look and roll like new. The Bandag retreading process is state of the art and will save you money while being good to the environment.
